Sitting here in the office looking really smug!

I got the bike last Thursday and have cycled to work three times this week (would have done all 5 but needed the car for work) and have really enjoyed it. Haven't really cycled properly for years and was a bit worried that I would find it too hard going but it's been great - already addicted. Takes the same time to cycle as come in the car. Sitting here in the office looking really smug!!

What a fantastic bunch of guys! Every time we walked away from a newly visited partner shop we said "what a nice guy". Ten shops later and we had the same record running. All the shops in and around Belfast know their markets well and support their local customers fully because of this experience. Tidy, smart, friendly and happy. Quality, choice, efficiency and full of energy. The expletives run on... A big 'Hi' to Eamon of McConvey Cycles, Derek from the Bike Dock, John and Jonathan from Ciclisport, John from John Hanna Cycles, Derek from Cycle Zone, Dave from Dave Kane Cyles, Jimmy from Jimmy Quinn Cycles, Steve from Real Cycles, Total Cycling, Cookstown Cycles and Alan from Tri Cycle. Sorry we didn't get to meet Wiki Wiki Wheels, Bike IT, Bridge End Bikes, Madigan Pro Bike Centre or Roe Valley Cycles - we loom forward to seeing you during ournext visit! The purpose of our visit was to see a large public body and whilst we were there we had the pleasure of meeting several of our partner shops. Cyclescheme now has a solid base in N. Ireland so expect to hear more news soon. The pace has been fairly slow to date but watch this space. The good news is that biking in N.Ireland is very buoyant with Sustrans routes already in place and cycle trainers (TriCycle) set up to teach adults street-wise cycling and sound biking body language. There's even talkk of a new velodrome. Make mine a Guiness.
