British Summer Time (BST) officially kicked off on 31st March and marks a point in the year where commuting to work by bike starts to become much more enjoyable. Daylight reaches later into the evenings making for some truly spectacular work-to-home commutes, whilst the mornings greet you with a fresh face. Getting out on your bike at this time of year is one of the most enjoyable things you can do on your way to and from work.
To celebrate British Summer Time and the hundreds of thousands of you that cycle to work everyday, we’re kicking off a photo competition - #commutergallery.
Throughout the month of April we want you to share your commute with us. We want photos of the best, most interesting sights you see on your way to (or from) work. From breath-taking countryside vistas to gritty inner-city scenes we want to see the commuting world through your eyes!
Here's how to take part
Just take a snap of your commute and share it with us using one of the methods below.
Tag your photos with @cyclescheme and use the hashtag #commutergallery
Post your photos directly onto our page www.facebook.com/cyclescheme
Tweet us @cycleschemeltd and use the hashtag #commutergallery
Send your photos directly to us on firstname.lastname@example.org with #commutergallery in the subject line.
At the end of April we’ll draw up a shortlist of 25 entries and publish them on our Facebook page. It’s then down to you to vote! The person who gets the most votes will win a brand new iPad mini, whilst 5 runners-up will bag themselves a mini adjustable tripod for their smartphone.
Ready, set, snap!
Terms and conditions
The competition will run from Friday 5th April to Monday 29th April. A shortlist of 25 entries will be drawn by Cyclescheme and uploaded to the Cyclescheme Facebook page. From 29th April - 2nd March the voting will open for the shortlisted entries. The photo with the highest number of 'likes' in this period will receive the top prize, with the runner-up prizes going to the next 5 with the highest number of 'likes'. To take part in the Cyclescheme #commutergallery competition the photo must have permission to use the photo you submit. Entries to the competition may be used in promotional and marketing material for Cyclescheme.
