H2 Soho Reception
The facility offers extensive changing areas with 1,198 lockers, 39 showers, a 240 space bike park, a gym area, sports massage and SPIN® studio. The scale and quality of the club is impressive offering a cost effective solution for cycle commuters. Customers can freshen up, change, store bikes and clothing, and further improve their fitness and well-being through its gym facilities and indoor cycling studio, H2 Ride. The club offers customers a flexible, high quality approach to health and fitness at very reasonable prices, helping them to stay fit and healthy, keep travel costs low and personal hygiene high as well as cutting the capital’s carbon emissions and congestion levels. Cyclescheme visited the club and can confirm they are the biggest changing rooms we have ever seen with lockers as far as the eye can see, we were also impressed that they had GHD hair straighteners for the ladies.
H2 Ride – Official Spinning® Studio
H2 was created after 3 years of research to provide a much needed solution for cyclists who have no bike parking, showering or changing facilities at their place of work. The concept is aimed at the busy professional and provides add on services including bike servicing, retail, permanent locker rental and dry cleaning.
Piers Slater, founder of H2 comments:
“The Department of Transport ‘Cycle to Work Guarantee’ encourages the provision of proper bike storage, changing facilities and safe cycle routes – and H2 provides exactly that. Cycling to work beats public transport, which may be over-crowded, there’s no congestion charge to pay and it’s more sustainable than other forms of transport. Our team has received huge demand from corporate clients’ employees. Membership to H2 is an easy way for a company to hit carbon reduction targets and please employees all round.”
H2 invested in energy efficient showers, sustainable materials and an efficient energy heating systems using heat exchanges and power conservation solutions. Simply by increasing the number of people who are cycling or running will help cut carbon emissions; it is estimated that one H2 club could save 1,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
H2 Changing and Shower Facilities
The cost of H2 membership is affordable with a variety of memberships starting from £17.99 per month off peak (11am onwards) to £30.99 per month for peak. H2 believe that commuters can save between £40 and £120 per month by using H2 in comparison to their existing travel, health and fitness arrangements such as travel cards, congestion charges, fuel, parking and gym membership.
On the same basis as Cycle Scheme H2 provides a tax efficient cycle solution for companies who either subsidise or pay for all of the cost (discounts are available for employers with more than 10 staff). A free 3 day trial is available for all and there is no contract so you can leave if it is not for you. For corporate client’s it is the single biggest facility requested by employees and H2 provide the complete solution. Furthermore H2 is more cost effective than installing your own facilities (if viable) and membership costs can be set against Corporation Tax and employers can reclaim the VAT where relevant.
To compliment the bike park, H2 have an on site cycle service centre and providing a team of professional on-site mechanics offering a full bike repair and maintenance service so members can drop their bike off in the morning and pick it up on the way home. H2 stock brands including Gore, Polaris, Shimano and much more.
H2 Cycle Service Centre
H2 focus on service, hospitality and convenience for members with other services including dry cleaning and laundry service (with 24 hour turnaround), permanent towel and locker hire. Operations Manager Lee Kilby added, “Our members are here to take what they need of our services in their busy lifestyle, any hard selling is not allowed, our aim to make H2 an oasis within their day.”
