This year saw a new record set for miles pledged for Cycle to Work Day. 

In a record-breaking year for Cycle to Work Day, we were thrilled to see just how successful the campaign has become, encouraging people to take to two wheels and enjoy the pleasure of everyday cycling. Over 1,000 employers took part, with a combined workforce of over 1.3 million staff.

  • The total miles pledged for #CycleToWorkDay would take you more than 27 times around the world
  • Enough calories were burned on #CycleToWorkDay to complete over 165 distance of the Tour de France 
  • The amount of  C02 saved on #CycleToWorkDay was the equivalent of more than 19 return flights from London to Sydney

One of the new features for this year’s Cycle to Work Day was the introduction of the London Bike Tube – a series of guided rides into the city centre – led by the London Cycling Campaign to encourage people to try cycling to work.
