About ARCC Innovations (Cambridge)

The ARCC power system has been designed by ARCC Innovations to provide unique intelligent bike power. We've called it the Intelligent Drive Pod.

It combines variable power levels with automatic hill/gradient compensation and launch control. This allows commuting cyclists to choose the amount of effort both they and the motor provides, automatically compensates for hills and gradients and provides ‘launch control’, for safety, when moving away from lights and crossings in heavy traffic.

The ARCC electrical system can be attached and removed from the bike in seconds and uses an industry-standard 4.0 Ah Bosch battery - these are readily available virtually anywhere in the world. This battery gives a typical range of about 30 miles and can be recharged in an hour on a desk top charger. When the pod is removed, the bike reverts to its standard configuration and can be used as a regular bike. There is no significant weight gain.

The ARCC Intelligent Drive Pod system is currently available as retrofitted kits on Brompton bikes, Moulton TSR bikes, Cinellis and Airnimal Joeys. It can also be added to a normal bike - perhaps for you to upgrade your favourite bike to an e-bike.

The pod is machined from solid billets of aluminium in our facility in Cambridge, assembled with industrial grade processors and electronics, sealed to withstand all weather conditions and covered by a 5 year warranty.

Each bicycle is built, fine-tuned and tested by our engineers to ensure a perfect set up.
