Cyclescheme is the UK's most popular cycle to work benefit, creating more cyclists than any other provider.

With new restrictions in place across the whole of the UK at the start of 2021, it is our understanding that Bicycle Stores will be classed as ‘essential’ and will remain open and trading. Stores are currently trading as normal in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, although you should expect some changes when visiting your local store.

At Cyclescheme we work with a wide range of retailers; from your local store to mail order, multi-sport retailers and online retailers, who are working and adapting well to the challenges to deliver a service.

Bicycle stores remain in demand at the moment across the UK, whether locally or online, with many citing an unprecedented surge in requests over the last 8 months. 

Most retailers are adapting to the current circumstances using the following methods:

  • Operating by appointment only
  • Operating a local delivery service
  • Operating on a ‘drive-through/takeaway’ basis
  • Limiting the number of customers in-store at once

At this moment, we advise you to take the following measures before leaving home to collect your Cyclescheme bike from a retailer:

  1. Call the store or email first to confirm the date and time for the collection of your bike as well as any changes to the store's regular trading hours or access.
  2. Remember to take a face mask – all customers using bicycle stores must follow the guidelines outlined by the localised Governments.

Retailer Network FAQs 

Q. Can I still get a bike with Cyclescheme?
A. Yes! We have a huge range of retailers.

Q. Are Cyclescheme 'Click and collect' stores still working?
A. All our click and collect retailers are all currently functioning as normal. We suggest you phone the store first to confirm they will be able to receive your order.  

Q. My local store is not accepting any Cycle to work vouchers, what can I do?
A. Please contact Cyclescheme directly who should be able to advise on the next course of action.

Q. The store has attempted to charge an admin fee for processing my certificate. What do I do?
A. Cyclescheme retailers are not entitled to charge an admin fee on a bikes £RRP (unless it's a sale bike). Contact RetailTeam@bhnetwork.com for support. 

Q. Can I use my Cyclescheme eCertificate over the phone?
A. Yes, many of our retailer partners have contact centres or mail order facilities. 

Q.The bike shop can no longer order my chosen bike and do not have a suitable alternative.
A. Providing you have not redeemed your certificate; we can help you choose another bike or change retailer. 2021 Bikes are now available
