The route takes in London’s major landmarks: Tower Bridge, a deserted City of London, Canary Wharf, Piccadilly Circus, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and more.... The circular itinerary is clearly sign-posted so you can cycle at your own pace. Full support and back up will be provided.
Chris Richardson-Wright took part in last year’s Nightrider™:
“Last June, I took part in the superbly named ‘Nightrider™’, a 100km night cycle event in London on behalf of the development charity Practical Action. I cycle regularly, but not competitively or particularly seriously and the event itself was incredible, one of the best events I have ever taken part in. The charity provided cycling jerseys in their own striking colours, and being amongst a sea of orange and black cyclists at midnight outside Alexandra Palace felt fantastic – one big team!
The route was brilliant – not too hard but challenging enough that the night flew by. My favourite moment was sweeping down towards London Bridge, as the sun rose from behind the City of London. As we finally returned to Ally Pally at 7.00am, the Practical Action team were there to welcome us home with goody bags and smiles. A perfect end to a brilliant night.
From signing up, the Practical Action team were super supportive. I was nervous at first about raising the sponsorship, but with the support provided I was able to smash my target and raise over £600 for this brilliant charity”.
